Biography:

Emanuel Kataev represents and advises employers across many industries in a wide range of labor and employment matters. He has extensive experience litigating cases in both federal and state court, handling all aspects of these cases from inception through trial. Emanuel has assisted his clients in obtaining summary judgment in numerous state and federal actions and helped them win defendants’ verdicts at trial. Similarly, he has favorably settled many cases. Emanuel regularly advises employers on a wide array of issues arising in the workplace.

 

He regularly represents and counsels clients in matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblower claims, wage and hour violations, restrictive covenants, and leaves of absence. Emanuel’s experience includes representing clients in various industries, including the hospitality industry, in matters involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation, claims of alleged minimum wage/overtime violations, litigating unfair competition matters, representing companies being investigated by the New York State and United States Departments of Labor, representing employers in Article 78 proceedings, assisting companies with unemployment hearings, and conducting trials in state and federal court.

 

Emanuel graduated from both college and law school at St. John’s University a semester early, gaining admission to the bar of the State of New York well before most of his colleagues sat for their bar exam He is a first generation college student who has an entrepreneurial spirit. He is also admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut.
